Gaia Minerva

In my work, I use the mythical Roman goddess Gaia to symbolize the system of systems that keep this planet alive. It’s interesting to consider the many ways to think about her. In this case, she is depicted as the Snowy Owl, one of the innumerable beautiful creatures living on earth. Minerva, of course, was the goddess of wisdom, often depicted as an owl. Glazed stoneware with under-glazes and paint. 17" x 6.5" x 9" $2900 (4020001)
